Our goal for these teams is to find a place for every athlete. We ask that players attend tryouts to introduce them to the process of tryouts so they are more familiar with it when they move on to more competitive teams. Please register your athlete for the U12 tryout session on Saturday, October 28 at 3pm. Athletes should wear comfortable athletic clothing, and athletic shoes; don’t worry if you don’t have knee pads (those will be included in their uniform packages). We’ll run the athletes through a short warm up and then through a few drills that highlight different court skills. Again, our goal is to introduce them to the process of tryouts, so they know what to expect for years to come. During tryouts we will have a meeting with the parents to discuss the season and answer any questions you may have.

The Shaka Regional U12’s team will practice twice a week on Saturdays from 11am to 1pm at DaKine Sports Center and Wednesdays at Hunt Middle School (just a few blocks North of DaKine); and will participate one day tournaments, about once a month, starting in January. The tournaments are all local (just off the I5 corridor, from about Everett to Olympia). This team will have a designated head coach for practices & tournament with several assistants rotating at practices to give additional support.
