U12 Tryouts Saturday, October 28- 3pm
In the recent 2023 club season, DaKine’s U12 Surf team finished 18 out of 93 teams in the U14 regional power league! They finished first place in the regional bid tournament in the Emerald Division, earning a bid to the Girls Junior National Championships!
For the 2021 Club Season, DaKine’s U12 Surf team finished #6 out of 23 teams in the region, based on winning percentage. In the 2022 Club Season, the DaKine U12 Surf team finished #3 out of 29 teams in the region; they won their bid to nationals at the PSR Regional Championships, and competed in the National Division at the Girls Junior National Championships!
On October 28th, DaKine will be hosting our U12 tryouts at 3pm. We’ll run athletes through a series of drills to assess their current skill sets to place them on one of our club teams for the 2023-2024 Club Season. Drills will be similar to what they have been doing in the different fall programs. They should come prepared for activity, with athletic attire and gym shoes.
DaKine offers two types of club teams for the u12 age group. One of our teams is a National Team (12 Surf) that competes at a high level, both locally and nationally. Athletes selected to this team usually have at least one year of volleyball experience, either attending Lil Spikers or other camps and clinics. This team practices twice a week for 2.5 hours and competes 1-2 times a month from January to at least the end of May. Players will receive a full uniform package.

Preparing for Tryouts
An athletes first tryout experience can be very nerve racking, so we highly suggest registering your athlete for our fall CLUB PREPARATION SERIES. This six week series will help your athletes feel more confident going into tryouts, as they will get a chance to practice the drills we will be using for evaluations and an opportunity for them to get to know many of the coaches they will we working with this season. Familiarity with the drills and the staff, can really help athletes feel more confident and calm.
