Elite Beach MAKE UP Tryouts- Wed. April 27
DaKine will be offering top tier beach training with the best talent in the region again this summer. With many talented players still playing indoor until June or July, we have created a third option for these talented athletes- our Elite Non Travel Squad. This will accommodate indoor club players that are unavailable until later in the spring or summer, but either have several years of beach experience or are highly skilled and deserve to train in an advance training group. These athletes will not have required travel commitments like the other elite squads (Open, Club One & Club Two), like the BVCA Club Challenge Series; but are welcome to travel with their partners. These athletes will be given the chance to choose when they will be able to layer beach practices into their current training schedules and choose what month they would like to hit the sand (May, June or July).
Elite Warriors will have three practices a week for the month of May, and twice a week in competition season, June through mid-August. All practices will begin with a dynamic warm up, followed by 45 minutes of ball control and technique training. The following 45 minutes are focused on strategic drills, using game like situations. The remainder of practices will be structured queen of the court scrimmaging, followed by 20 minutes of cardio & strength training. Practice plans will be customized and developed by each training group’s head coach and Club Director Chris Hannemann.
Our practices are designed to feed and fuel the complete athlete, lending from the Hawaiian tradition of the Lokahi Triangle. Lokahi means unity & agreement, and the triangle refers to achieving harmony- mentally, physically & spiritually. We’ll be including mental training exercises to encourage focus and help with visualization. DaKine athletes are leaders- they never follow; we’ve set the standard in hand setting on the beach, across the nation, and we intend to lead our athletes to success, both off and on the sand.
*Please note: If you are not selected to any of the Elite Teams (Open or Club), you can still develop your skills and grow your game this off season on one of our advanced regional teams.

National Beach Organizations
AVP America’s Junior Tour and National Championships are meant to foster the growth and development of junior beach athletes that may eventually want to play in the AVP’s professional beach tour. Local clubs across the nation, like DaKine, will hold bid tournaments to help athletes qualify to participate in the National Championship events. Each AVP America tournament an athlete participates in, earns them points towards their national ranking, improving their seeding at each event.
The Beach Volleyball Clubs of America Club Challenge Series is the gold standard for the top beach recruits in the nation to come together and compete in the collegiate format.
