Born and raised in Fort Lauderdale, FL, I grew up around beach volleyball. My father was a great player and owned The Sports Page Cafe, a bar on A1A in Pompano Beach, FL with 8 pristine courts on the beach. It was South Florida’s destination for top players in the early 1990’s and the place where I developed a life-long love and appreciation for this sport. I started playing indoor volleyball in 7th grade as a setter and a libero but eventually became an effective Outside Hitter. In my senior year at Cardinal Gibbons High School in Fort Lauderdale, our team went 31 – 0 and won the Florida State Championship. I played club volleyball at the University of Florida on some very good teams for 5.5 years while earning my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees, eventually reaching (but losing) the National Championship match in my final season. A career in Finance took most of my attention for the next 4 years until I decided to buy a small business near Seattle. I’ve found a great beach volleyball community in the Pacific Northwest and at 30 years old, I’m finally taking the sport more seriously. I’m looking forward to the process of constantly improving my game and making some waves on the AVP tour!
